The Days Leading to “D-Day”…And Beyond

The weeks before our departure were filled with end of year school events, baseball and LAX games, a few play dates and sleep overs – (THANK YOU for having our children over and for giving us time to address last minute issues with packing)  for the boys with their cherished friends.

Jen and Ralph also scheduled breakfasts, lunches and dinners with our soon to be dearly missed friends and this was capped by three wonderful  parties: one at the Waters home with all our Burns family relatives, one by our neighbors The LaCasses and The Sheehy’s (on the beach!) and lastly by my parents the Sorenti’s who hosted almost our entire family.

All of these wonderful loved ones cooked and  served while we relaxed and enjoyed their company. THANK YOU ALL!!  We love you! Read more »

A Little More on Full Time RV Family…

The Fulltime RV Family in front of "The Rig"

We are the Sorenti-Burns family.  Two self employed parent in our mid 40’s working in a mobile work environment who love to travel and explore new places.  We are curious folk who believe that travel is the best education of all. We plan to home school our two boys together during this time away.

Jen has been working in the satellite business for over 20+ years and wants to connect with and introduce her family to all her friends/customers throughout the US and Canada. She has many appointments set up across the two countries as we travel west toward the Pacific. Jen is the navigator of the journey (code name Magellan) and in charge of site logistics. Jen is the idea person, chief explorer and in charge of budgeting. Jen is a history buff, mostly social and economic history, who loves to visit historical sites and museums especially, former President’s homes.

Ralph left the corporate world of medical testing and big pharmacy sales management and dove into Internet business two years ago and has never looked back.  He’s looking for new ideas, experiences and inspirations as well as meeting with his business partners as we cross the country. Welcome to The Full Time RV Family Blog!

RVing full time with the full time RV family

Just about to depart on the long full time RV roadtrip...

RVing  full time had been a dream of ours for nearly 5 years – we wanted to find a way to see the USA and live the full time RV lifestyle.

One problem with this dream though: we are not “professional full time RV people”…we’re not even half-way experienced full time RVing people.

In fact, we’ve barely ever camped, gone RVing or done anything remotely related to “roughing it” in the outdoors.

The only other time we ever vacationed in an RV was a three-day RVing rental that cost us a small fortune to Acadia National Park in Maine nearly three years ago.

We were so bad at it we vowed we’d never do it again.

But the dream of full time RVing never went away…

So in spite of all that, we took the plunge, bought a behemoth Chapparal Fifth Wheel and set out on our full time RV journey…but this time do it 100% – doing it full time.

Why Full Time RVing?

Most people thought we wouldn’t actually go. We have a nice home in a nice neighborhood with good friends and family nearby. We have good jobs and our kids are doing pretty well in school and life overall is good. We consider ourselves to be very fortunate.

So why throw all that aside and go in an RV full time for a year? Read more »
