OK all you hosers…we are neighbors with Canada right? And what do neighbors do…”hey neighbor, can I borrow a half a stick of butter?”…of course they share FOOD!

We are only showing Bob and Doug McKenzie above because, although they are very funny, this is usually all most Americans really know about Canada…which is really kinda sad.

Well, we at Full Time RV Family have truly discovered that there is much more to know about Canada…and not only is it all about the people…but its also about THE FOOD!

Before we traveled in an RV full time to Canada , I was under the impression that there was no real difference in the types of food in Canada And the food in the US.

I’m sorry to say, I was mistaken and the food companies are pulling one over one us!

Eli’s Thoughts on RVing Full Time in Canada https://fulltimervfamily.com/elis-thoughts-on-rving-full-time-in-canada/ https://fulltimervfamily.com/elis-thoughts-on-rving-full-time-in-canada/#comments Sun, 26 Jun 2011 03:08:59 +0000 http://fulltimervfamily.com/?p=373 RVing In Cottage Country

My favorite part of visiting Canada was going to the cottage with my cousins. I loved every part of that weekend: swimming out to the raft, knee boarding, playng cap gun wars, going to the Buck N Up, and Sandy’s special French toast and s’mores.

RVing in Canada Rocks!

We went to Auntie Charlie and Uncle Tony’s house to visit. Their house was AWESOME!  We swam in an indoor AND an outdoor pool and we played pool and foozball!  The most interesting thing  was Auntie Charlie’s rock garden.

I found all kinds of cool crystals, purple and white crystals, just plain white crystals and striped rocks and even fossilized shark teeth and petrified wood too….all from somewhere in Canada.  I had a lot of fun exploring that rock garden!!

Our Canadian Party

One night we went over to my Mom’s friend’s house! It was just like home! We had some of my favorite foods like … Steak, lamb, potatoes, and corn!  were very good and kind hosts and I would really like to see them all again!!! Thank you Krista, Owen and Matthew for a great time!!

And to Len, I really want to come visit you in Ottawa and skate on a real canal. I am glad you like the Celtics too.

Eli’s Review on Canadian Food:

There are a new kind of potato chips in Canada, ketchup potato chips. They taste like salt and vinegar chips but a little bit sweeter. My mom says they taste like French fries with ketchup.

We tried  lots of  Canadian candy. I liked Aero chocolate bars which has bubbles of air in it, Look they have air in them! (I think that’s why they call it an AIR – O bar)

I also liked chocolate Kindereggs ( with a toy inside!!)  and my favorite, the Wonderbar,  which has  carmel and cookies crisp in it, sort of like Twix but better.

Wonder Bar Chocolate Bar is awesome!

All in all you should go live in an RV full tme in Canada – it is cool!

RVing Full Time in Canada for Kids https://fulltimervfamily.com/rving-full-time-in-canada-for-kids/ https://fulltimervfamily.com/rving-full-time-in-canada-for-kids/#comments Wed, 22 Jun 2011 18:53:14 +0000 http://fulltimervfamily.com/?p=304 We are RVing full time and went to Canada. I like Canada a lot. Some of the things I like are:

1. Canadian Food

The candy in Canada tastes great. Areo Chocolate tastes the best!

I have a new favorite food it is called beaver tails. They are not meat but fried dough with sugar, chocolate, cinnamon and bananas.

My top 5 food list has now changed. Before I went to Canada my top 5 favorite foods were:

1. Hot dogs

2. Steak

3. Ribs

4. Casaduries (an Italian cookie my Mom makes)

5. Lamb

After I went to Canada my top 5 foods are NOW:

1. Hot dogs

2. Casaduries

3. Beavertails (my NEW #3)

4. Steak

5. Ribs

So you see Canada has been a great place to visit because the food is so good it changed my Top 5 favorite foods list!

2. Canadian People

Are very nice and fun there are lots of grownups that like kids.

My Uncle Grant and my Uncle Tony were my favorite grownups to play with. Grant took me kneeboarding and Tony took me to three pools.

3. Canadian Kids

I saw my cousins and went knee boarding. We had a lot of fun shooting cap guns that we got from the Buck n’ Up – it’s a general store that sells everything’s kids like in Canada. They even sell motorboats!

Eting breakfast with the cousins

Here I am eating breakfast at "The Cottage" with my cousins....mmmm Canadian cereal!

4. Canadian Weather

In Canada it is cold in the winter and very hot in the summer you would think it would be colder than Florida in the winter.

5. Canadian Ponds

Ponds in Canada are very muddy and are infested  with fish and are perfect for knee boarding not that much wake.

Here is me the first time kneeboarding with my Uncle Grant:

I like Canada very much and I think kids who are living full time in an RV would like it too.
